Arrma Big Rock Design
Arrma Big Rock Body
The Arrma Big Rock body is a pickup, a badass-looking pickup that nothing can stop on its way.
With a greatly designed headlight on top and bottom as well as a big grill. Unfortunately, despite having a great design, they’re still just stickers. It would be cooler if they were real.
In addition to that, there is a huge bumper covering from edge to edge.
On the hood, there are two clips to fix the body on the shock towers of the chassis.
On top, unfortunately, there are no skids to protect the Arrma Big Rock body in case of a flip-over. But, you don’t need to worry about this since the chassis is so wide.
This means that it is hard for this RC beast to flip over which is good.
When it comes to the rear, there are also two red lights with the Arrma Logo in the middle. Their design looks fantastic, especially that vertical style!
I can’t ignore the rear bumper that looks powerful. You can rely on it.
Right down the bumper, you will find the wheelie bar that comes with the Arrma Big Rock. It will help you keep your balance while accelerating fast.
It’s so useful especially since it is stronger than the previous version. Now, you don’t have to worry about breaking or bending it. It’s so powerful.
The body is well-designed and looks good. You can always change it whether because of breaking or for changing color.
It does come painted with blue and matte black which looks amazing.

Arrma Big Rock Chassis
As mentioned before, the chassis of the Arrma Big Rock doesn’t have a big ground clearance and comes with big wheels which makes it hard to flip over.
The chassis has been hardened and became better than the last version, this will help you better handle the high jumps and the crashes that will do with this Arrma Big Rock!
By mentioning the jumps, we must also mention the shocks and the suspension system that is the first responsible for handling them!
These shocks are oil-filled and have Silicone O-rings for better performance and reliability.
When it comes to the arms, they’re wider than the previous version to increase the handling that we talked about before.
On top of the shocks, there are shock towers that you can adjust so that you can elevate the level of the body or put it down, this feature is useful sometimes!
Once you see the middle of the chassis, you will see those big side walls that contain the internal parts inside.
These big walls are so important to keep the dust and the mud from damaging the motor and the ESC.
There is also that big central driveshaft with plastic support around it for extra protection.
Other than that, the Arrma Big Rock comes with all the other parts that any Arma RC car has.
It does come with a motor, an ESC, a central driveshaft that we mentioned before as well as a battery place and a more powerful servo than the previous version.
The great thing about this chassis is how organized it is. You can distinguish between the different parts with no confusion. Also, you can always fix and change those parts easily.
In general, this chassis is amazing and stronger than the last version. It is not the best out there, but, I highly recommend it for bad bashers.

Arrma Big Rock Performance
Here is something that shocked me about the Arrma Big Rock, it can reach up to 50mph. This is a huge speed, especially for an off-roading RC car like this one.
To reach that speed, the Arrma Big Rock comes with a Spektrum™ Firma™ 3200Kv brushless motor with a BLX100 2S/3S waterproof ESC that is also brushless.
You can add a 2s or 3s Lipo battery to this Arrma Big Rock and go all out.
By the way, these batteries don’t come included in the box, here are the recommended ones that you should buy:
When it comes to speed and handling, this beast is amazing. You don’t have to worry about the motor heating because it domes women with a heatsink as well as a fan to keep it cool.
Even if you flip it over, the body and the chassis can easily handle that.
Is there anything you should do to make the Arrma Big Rock function?
No, all you need is to take it out of the box, add a 2s/3s Lipo battery, and you’re ready to go. Also, you can reach 50mph directly after putting the batteries.
The Arrma Big Rock servo has also been updated to become so much better than the previous version. It’s a metal-geared digital waterproof servo from Spektrum. It can produce 15% more torque than the previous one!

Arrma Big Rock 3s Tires
Tires are a big part of an RC car to perform well. They might help you drive better or worse!
The Arrma Big Rock 3s tires have two sides: a good side and a bad one.
On the bad side, these tires are well built which is good.
However, they have a high grip ability, so, if you drive the Arrma Big Rockon a normal road, what happens is that it’s hard to control that RC car because of the speed, also, the high grip doesn’t allow the Arrma Big Rock to slide and maintain balance, which means, it will be upside down in no time!
On the other hand, these tires work perfectly off-road and you’ll have a great time enjoying the drive.
So, what is the solution for the on-road tires?
Well, all you need is to get other tires with less grip. Otherwise, it’s not necessary if you’re able to control your new Arrma Big Rock since it is possible. It’s just a matter of time.
By the way, don’t consider this an inconvenience about this RC car because it is really fun to drive it on-road and discover its full strength and top speed!
Here is another great thing about the Arrma Big Rock tires, they’re vented tires that stop the dirt from getting in as well as allow water to escape. That’s so cool.

Arrma Big Rock Maintenance

Some of the best systems that come with some Arma RC cars is the Active Vehicle Control (AVC). This system helps you with maintaining your balance and prevents your RC car from sliding and losing control.
Unfortunately, this system is only available in high-end Arrma RC cars like the Kraton and the Felony.
It is true that an RC car such as the Arrma Big Rock that is hard to control on-road needs such a system, but you can still figure it out without it. Plus, it’s so fun to have an uncontrolled beast to control!
On the other hand, the Arrma Big Rock comes with the SPEKTRUM™ 3-CHANNEL SLT3™ 2.4GHZ RADIO AND SLR300 WATERPROOF RECEIVER which is a new update as well.
It is not compatible with the Spektrum Dashboard App that shows you everything about your RC car through your smartphone, but, it does come with something that you will enjoy if you’re a beginner or if you have kids.
It’s called the throttle mode, this mode allows you to limit the power of acceleration to 50% or 75% depending on your situation. This way, if you have kids, you avoid the danger of hurting someone or hurting yourself.

Annoying Things About The Arrma Big Rock
Nothing in this world is perfect, no RC car is perfect and so the Arrma Big Rock is!
Despite the high performance and the user-friendly features that this RC car comes with, there are some annoying things you should know before buying.
- Nobody skids or internal cage: This is disappointing, especially for an RC car that can reach 50 mph. This is a high speed that requires some protection. The body doesn’t have any protection in case of flipping over which can be a bit concerning.
- No Spektrum Dashboard App: The bad thing about this feature is the fact that is only available in high-end RC cars as mentioned before. It’s not necessary to enjoy playing though!
Despite having these bad sides, the Arrma Big Rock still has lots and lots of great features that you can take advantage of!
