The Design

Arrma TLR Tuned Typhon Body

If you compare the new Tuned Typhon with the old one, you’ll see some changes for sure on the body. They don’t have the same body designs!

Some small details have been changed. This body still keeps the Typhon identity which is important.

Additionally, the body paint has changed to be more eye-catching.

After all, the idea about the body change is to show a sportier version of the RC car which is cool.

As you know, the Typhon body doesn’t cover all the chassis, so, the front shocks as well as the shock tower are outside the covering of the body.

Also, in the rear, the shock tower as well as the shocks are outside the body.

When it comes to the spoiler, it is different from the normal version.

The new spoiler looks simpler with few details and two splitters in the middle. This one also has a square shape instead of a curvy which was the case with the old version.

Arrma TLR Tuned Typhon Colors

The Arrma TLR Tuned Typhon body is offered in two colors which are Pink/Purple, Red/Blue.

These colors make a great sync which each other and make the RC car look amazing and sporty.

Arrma TLR Tuned Typhon Tires

The tires and wheels of the new Arrma TLR Tuned Typhon have also got some improvements and changes.

The wheels are similar to the ones on the Arrma Limitless which are aerodynamic friendly and have a racing style as well.

Concerning the tires, they are the High-traction dBoots® Exabyte Tires which are super effective and great on and off-road.

Arrma TLR Tuned Typhon Chassis

Once you remove that body with the three clips on it, you’ll see the chassis.

This chassis still has the same structure as the normal Typhon version. However, so many parts are upgraded to the TLR.

The shock towers, the chassis skid as well as other internal parts. They have also changed from Red color to Gray.

In the front of the Typhon, there is no bumper, all you see is only the shocks and the shock tower made of Aluminum which become stronger and thicker.

You can even adjust the shock tower and tune it yourself which is what to expect from Arrma!

The suspension system on the Typhon is really tough and works perfectly. You can adjust it as well in addition to the pivot balls.

This is the great thing about Arrma, they get creative, but, they give you the chance to make your creativity also!

Concerning the shocks, the Arrma TLR Tuned Typhon comes with the TLR Tuned black TLR branded shocks. They look almost the same as the old version except for the color.

Of course, the shocks and the shock tower are made of the same material for the rear.

What about internal electronics?

Well, they don’t exist! Yes, this is not an RTR Arrma RC car, it’s a fully customizable RC car that you can personalize yourself.

So, when you take it out of the box, you’ll see how empty the chassis is.

Still, you’ll find some parts like the 52 spur gear. The pinion gear doesn’t include.

Arrma TLR Tuned Typhon Performance

As mentioned before, this is a roller RC car with no electronics.

So, if you’re a beginner, this RC car is not the right one for you. But, you can always have the normal Typhon which comes with RTR. Check its full review.

For experts, that can be a great RC car for you to test some new electronics and have fun.

The only thing that worries me about the Typhon is the absence of the front bumper.

The absence of protection, in this case, can make damage to the front shocks and in the worst case the shock tower and the suspension system in case of a crash.

Also, there is no protection from dust or mud to the shocks which may impact their performance with time.

Other than that, this Truggy is impeccable!

Arrma TLR Tuned Typhon Price

Since this RC car is a roller, this means that its price will be much cheaper than the RTR version which is true.

With all the features and the new parts in this RC car, the Arrma TLR Tuned Typhon price looks reasonable. Check out the price.

Arrma always blows us with great RC cars, especially the roller versions where you can show how creative you are.

Unlike the previous article where we compared the Arrma Granite VS Big Rock which are both monster RC trucks, this time we have a Monster truck vs a Stadium truck.

They’re both off-roading vehicles but with different strengths and missions.

One is for hard bashing and going through everything in front of it, while the other is made to be sportier and for high jumps.

Does this difference in the category means also a difference in performance? And which one is better for you?

Arrma Vorteks VS Granite Design

The Body

The body is the first indicator that identifies any RC car. Regarding the Arrma Vorteks VS Granite bodies, they’re different in shape and design which makes them easy to distinguish.

The Arrma Granite comes with a big and high body, on the other hand, the Vorteks comes with a wider and shorter body.

Both of them have 4 clips, 2 on the hood in 2 others on the back. The difference though is in the skids.

The Granite doesn’t come with any skids that protect the body while the Vorteks have two plastic ones on the top.

The Front

Regarding the front, these two RC cars are completely different. The first thing you’ll notice when looking at the front is the bumper.

They both have bumpers that protect the body since they come first, but their shape is different.

The bumper of the Granite looks so much stronger and covers more space. On the other hand, the bumper of the Vorteks comes with a one-piece plastic part. Still, it does a very good job.

By the way, these bumpers aren’t connected to the body, they’re connected to the chassis.

The common thing between the Arrma Vorteks VS Granite is the fake headlights and the grill, they’re just stickers. This is something that we’re used to in Arrma. No real Headlights!

However, the design is on another level. The Granite is characterized by its big 4 headlights while the Vorteks has those two minimalist small sharp headlights.

The great thing I like about the design of the body of the Vorteks is the big muscles on the sides that make it look wider. Isn’t that wonderful?

The Middle and the Back

The Arrma Vorteks VS Granite middle and the back will show you exactly how different these two RC cars are.

Since the Granite is a monster truck and the Vorteks is a Stadium truck, they have different shapes.

When it comes to the Granite, it has a simple design just like a normal pickup, no spoiler, normal fake taillights in addition to a wheelie bar. Simple and easy to read!

Whereas for the Vorteks, it’s a little bit complex!

The rear of this Stadium RC car has multiple vents (or small windows, let’s say) which are fake but cool. In addition to that, there is a big spoiler to help with downforce and handling.

Under the spoiler comes the bumper that looks like the front one, plus a wheelie bar to help keep your RC car under control in case of high acceleration.

Arrma Vorteks VS Granite Colors

If you have seen our full review of the Arrma Granite and Arrma Vorteks, you’ll notice that they come in dissimilar colors.

Regarding the Arrma Vorteks, it comes with 3 colors or we’d rather say body style since they don’t have one color on the body, Red, Purple, and Green.

On the other hand, the Granite is offered in two styles, Red and Green.

The Arrma Vorteks VS Granite Chassis

As mentioned before, the Arrma Vorteks VS Granite don’t have the same bodies and nature.

Still, their chassis look similar at least regarding the dimensions. So, are the chassis also different from the Arrma Vorteks VS Granite body?

Well, in general, the Arrma Vorteks VS Granite chassis are the same. They have the same platform and even some electronics. Still, they have some differences.

First of all, I’m sure you have noticed that these RC cars have different ground clearance. The Granite has a higher chassis than the Vorteks.

And this is mainly because of the Granite big tires as well as the shock tower that is bigger than the one on the Vorteks.

The Front and the Rear

The front of the chassis of both RC cars starts with the bumper that we mentioned before in the previous section where the Granite has a bigger and stronger bumper than the Arrma Vorteks.

The other Arrma Vorteks VS Granite chassis difference is the shock towers. On the Granite, the shock tower is thin and tall, on the other hand, the shock tower of the Arrma Vorteks is wide and short.

When it comes to the shocks and suspension system, they have the same, they’re good with handling and off-roading in general.

Whereas for the rear, they have also the same design with the same shock tower and the same difference.

Unfortunately, even if those two RC cars have almost the same chassis dimensions, you can’t flip the bodies since they’re not the same.

The body of the Granite can’t fit the Vorteks and vice versa.

The Electronics

Despite having the same chassis and the same platform, this wasn’t the same in electronics. Well, there are some common parts, but, most of them aren’t the same.

And the reason is, I think, the difference between these two RC cars. Being a Stadium Truck owner will require more features and so more electronics than a Pickup Truck.

Arrma Vorteks VS Granite Tires

The tires are some of the important parts in this Arrma Vorteks VS Granite comparison since they impact how each RC car performs.

The Arrma Vortels have smaller wheels in terms of size and width than the Granite that comes with big wide ones.

When it comes to the tires, the Arrma Vorteks comes with the dBoots^® Katar tires while the Granite comes with the Vented multi-terrain dBoots® Fortress MT tires.

They’re both powerful and have a high handling ability off-road.

Arrma Vorteks VS Granite Performance

What makes the performance difference between two RC cars? There are a lot of factors that control this difference, right?

That’s right! One of the factors is the electronics, the body’s shape (aerodynamics) as well as dimensions of the RC car especially when it comes to the chassis.

All these factors have an important role. But since we’re talking about bashing off-road, we don’t need the aerodynamics, they’re for speed. So, we still have the chassis and the power of electronics.

Arrma Vorteks VS Granite: Which One Is Faster?

Since the Arrma Vorteks is a Stadium RC car made for speed off-road, it is the one faster.

It can reach up to 60mph and more using the electronics mentioned above as well as a 3s Lipo battery in addition to the optional speed pinion gear.

On the other hand, the Granite can reach 50mph using the electronics mentioned above as well as a 3s Lipo battery. No optional speed pinion is required!

Other than the speed, the Arrma Vorteks VS Granite performance is pretty identical.

They’re indeed built for different things, but they’re both fun to play with and drive.

For the Vorteks, its’ made for speed off-road and making high jumps. Its low ground clearance increases its handling so it’s hard to flip over, even if it does, the plastic skids on top are always ready to protect that masterpiece stylish body.

The Granite, on the other hand, is made for bashing and going wild all over the place, you can climb anything you want especially if you have high ground clearance.

This means that it’s hard to get something to hit the metal bottom of the chassis.

So which one is better in terms of performance?

Answering this question depends on what you like the most. More speed and high jumps with low chassis, or, less speed, high chassis, and hard bashing.

Arrma Vorteks VS Granite Transmitter and Receiver

The Arrma Vorteks VS Granite transmitter and receiver are some of the electronics that weren’t the same for these two RC cars.

The Arrma Granite is offered with the Spektrum 2.4GHz SLT3 3-Channel Transmitter and SLR300 Receiver while the Arrma Vorteks has the Spektrum 2.4GHz DX3 Smart DSMR® 3-Channel Transmitter and SR6200A AVC® Receiver.

Which one is better? The answer is clear and easy; the DX3 transmitter that comes with the Vorteks is better and has more features.

That’s because the more speed you have, the more features you need.

This doesn’t mean that the Granite transmitter is a boring machine. It does come with some useful basic features that you will need for sure.

Some features like the throttle limiter where you can limit the speed of the Granite to 50% or 75%.

This is so useful especially if you have a child or a beginner who’s trying for the first time.

Whereas the Vortecks has some additional features like the AVC which is the Active Vehicle Control that helps you maintain the same direction with your RC car instead of losing balance.

Also, you can install the Dashboard Spektrum App on your smartphone, connect it to your receiver and enjoy checking a lot of info about your RC car including the speed as well as the electronics temperature.

The feature of the Arrma Vorteks Transmitter doesn’t stop here, the transmitter itself is different than the Granite.

It does come with a battery level indicator that contains 4 lights, the more lights you have, the higher the level is. This is, of course, in addition to the possibility of checking the battery level from the app.

Unlike the similar Infraction VS the Felony that we reviewed last time, the Arrma Granite and Big Rock are so much different at least in the body.

Yes, I know, they’re from the same range which is pickup trucks, still, the Arrma Granite VS Big Rock bodies have different designs.

The first thing you’ll notice once you see the Arrma Granite VS Big Rock bodies is the dimensions.

The dimensions are different. The Arrma Big Rock is way longer than the Granite not only on the body level but also on the chassis and the platform level.

On the other hand, Arrma Granite is higher than the Big Rock.

Both bodies come with 4 clips, 2 in the front and 2 others in the back.

Both bodies look cool and eye-catching.

The Front

If you’re familiar with Arrma RC cars then, you already know that the front of any Arrma RC cars usually comes with fake headlights and grills as well as fake windows. The design is incredible though!

Both RC cars come with 4 headlights in the front, they look like LED lights which makes them look amazing.

Also, they both have big bumpers which are connected to the chassis, but, they cover the body as well. This means that in case of a crash, the body is protected since it is behind the bumper.

As you see, the specs are the same, however, the shapes and designs are different, that’s what makes Arrma Granite VS Big Rock’s front end non-similar.

The Middle and the Back

As mentioned in the previous section, the Arrma Granite VS Big Rock middle and back end are also different.

The Arrma Granite comes with 2 doors while the long wheelbase Big Rock comes with 4 doors as well as a long tail.

There is no external cage for both RC cars to prevent damage in case of flip over but it’s ok since they’re wide enough to handle corners.

The Arrma Granite VS Big Rock rear end is similar, both RC cars come with a wheelie bar and a rear bumper as well.

Other than that, there are the taillights that their designs look different.

In the end, we can say that the Arrma Granite VS Big Rock bodies are different and at the same time, they’re similar. Different when it comes to small details while similar in the general look.

Arrma Granite VS Big Rock Colors

The colors of the Arrma Granite VS Big Rock are different as well.

The Arrma Granite comes in two stock colors: Green and Red.

On the other hand, the Big Rock comes with one color which is mate Black.

One of the reasons why Arrma Big Rock is lower than the granite is the height of the body which is the main reason, but also, the ground clearance is a little bit less than the Granite chassis.

Also, the Big Rock is wider due to the long suspension arms which are strong and reliable.

Also, the Arrma Granite VS Big Rock chassis is indeed different with a different platform for both RC cars if we consider the long wheelbase. However, these two have the same electronics

The Front And The Rear

As mentioned earlier, the first thing you’ll see in the chassis of these two RC cars is the front bumper, it’s not connected to the body, but the chassis.

Both bumpers are strong and great. However, that one on the Granite looks a little bit more rigid which is good for protection. It comes also with some small accessories.

The other Arrma Granite VS Big Rock difference is in the suspension system due to the wider Arrma Big Rock.

Yes, the Big Rock has longer suspension arms, and because of that, the angle of the shocks is more diagonal than the one on the Granite.

Does this impact the performance? Well, we can say yes, you’ll see that the Big Rock can handle a little bit more than the Granite especially hard off-road.

Does this mean that you’ll have a problem with the Granite off-road? Not at all! They all perform well.

Other than that, the material of the bumper and the shocks as well as the other small parts are mostly plastic. That can be better than Aluminum since it can absorb a lot of crashes and damage.

Still, you can always have access to upgrade to Aluminum parts. We will talk more about the upgrades and accessories later in this article.

When it comes to the rear, it’s the same for each car’s front, you have a wide suspension system for the Big Rock with a bumper and a wheelie bar.

On the same track, the Granite comes with a normal suspension system (not wide as Big Rock), a bumper as well as a wheelie bar.

The Electronics

The Arrma Granite VS Big Rock Performance and Handling

As you saw in the previous section, those two RC cars have the same electronics, so, do they have the same performance and speed?

Well, for speed, we can say that they might have the same. They both can reach up to 50mph using the electronics mentioned above in addition to a 3s Lipo battery.

However, when it comes to performance, it’s not the same.

Why? Because performance isn’t controlled only by electronics but also by different factors like the shape of the body that controls how the air flows, the ground clearance, the width, and the height as well as so many other different things.

So, which one is better? The Arrma Granite or the Big Rock?

As you know, these two RC cars are Off-road vehicles with a 4WD system that helps them go through anything.

They’re both good at jumps, speed, and hard terrains.

The Arrma Granite is lightweight, it is a good fit for jumping. On the other hand, the long wheelbase and the width of the Arrma Big Rock help it more with off-roading.

So, if you drive both of these two RC cars off-road, you’ll notice that the Big Rock is slightly more powerful and can handle more than the Granite.

Other than that, both RC cars can do a great job wherever you drive them.

Arrma Granite VS Big Rock Tires

Of course, if we’re talking about off-roading RC cars, we can’t ignore the tires since they have a very important role!

The common thing between the Arrma Granite VS Big Rock tires is the fact that they are vented.

The bog Rock comes with the Vented multi-terrain dBoots® RAGNAROK tires while the Granite comes with the Vented multi-terrain dBoots® Fortress MT tires.

The tires on the Granite are thinner and bigger than the Big Rock while this one comes with much wider tires.

The wheels design of the Arrma Granite VS Big Rock wheels is also different. I personally like the one of the Granite more, they look sportier.

Other than that, the tires and the wheels of the Arrma Granite VS Big Rock are incredible.

Arrma Granite VS Big Rock Transmitter and Receiver

The transmitter and receiver have also a big role in, not only making the performance of the RC car better but also making the driver’s experience better.

The more comfortable you are in your transmitter, the better you drive and control your RC car, isn’t that right?

for the Arrma Granite VS Big Rock transmitter and receiver, they come with the same. The transmitter is the Spektrum 2.4GHz SLT3 3-Channel Transmitter and Spektrum SLR300 Receiver.

They’re not the best, but they can do a great job and make you spend a good time with your RC car.

They come with some great features like the throttle mode where you can limit the throttle to 50% or 75% if you’re a beginner or you have a child that plays with it.

By enabling this mode, you limit the acceleration of the RC car to 50 or 75% depending on what you chose.

Despite having a different platform, the Arrma Granite VS Big Rock upgrades can have common parts especially when it comes to the electronics and the internal parts.

On the other hand, some other parts like the suspension system (some parts) can’t fit since they have a different widths.

Also, you can always find any accessories or parts for both RC cars, especially the Aluminum parts if you want to make your RC car harder.

She is a great thing, you’re most likely to find common parts between these two RC cars, they’re widely available, cheap, and easy to remove and replace especially f you’re familiar with RC cars.

The great thing about these RC cars is the fact that you can get a lot of fun and value (let’s say) at a convenient price.

If we compare the same features from other RC car brands, you’ll see that the Arrma Granite and Big Rock are so cheap and affordable.

Also, they have the same price, so, at least, you can forget about the money factor that usually takes the lead among the other factors and focus on what you want.

If we see these two RC cars in general, we will feel like they’re so different and far from each other.

So, these three things will be the three objects you should focus on to decide which next RC car will be yours.

If you like high RC cars with big wheels, big strong bumper, and a colorful body, then you should go for the Arma Granite.

There are indeed a lot of competitors to the Arrma Fireteam 6s in the Arrma RC cars, most of them are off-roading RC cars that are hard really to choose from.

Still, this RC car we’re reviewing today could do it and stand out and prove itself. It’s fast, special, reliable, and got a lot of handling!

Despite all that, some people still didn’t like it because of one thing.

Son how fast is the Arrma Fireteam 6s? Is it worth spending money on? And what is that thing that people don’t like about it?

The Design

Arrma Fireteam Body

I’m pretty sure that the first thing that draws your attention in this RC car is the Arrma Fireteam body. There is no way that you’ve seen this RC car and looked away!

And let me tell you this, the design is not the only weapon of this body. It has a big handling ability despite not being that big and wide!

It comes in two colors which are Matte Black Camo and Matte White Camo, there are no doors and all you have is 4 seats with military men sitting there and a huge cage surrounding them. That’s so realistic.

Yes, one of the big features in the Arrma Fireteam body is the realism that Arrma has added you can see every single detail on the RC car inside and outside!

Outside the Arrma Fireteam 6s

Regarding the design on the outside, the Arrma Fireteam 6s comes with a modern military design filled with a lot of angles and curbs which is super cool.

If you buy the black version, it’s hard to notice all these details on the outside. However, the white version is a better fit for that.

At the same time, the white version will make it hard for you to see the futuristic headlight that looks so cool on the black version.

So, in the end, each color has its pros and cons, so you should choose based on your personal preferences.

Down the headlights, there is a grill which is a sticker, it looks amazing and in front of it, there is the front bumper that is connected to the chassis.

On the sides, as mentioned earlier, there are no doors and you can see and touch those armed men sitting there with their weapons.

The rear on the other hand is so thin and comes with small taillights and a big rear bumper connected to the chassis for protection.

Also, there are no windows, instead of that, the cage bars are the only thing that connects the roof to the rest of the body which makes this RC car body looks strong.

The outside design of this RC car is filled with so many details and futuristic lines. But the details on the inside are far greater.

The Inside of the Body

Once you look inside the Arrma Fireteam body, you’ll see 4 armed military men, each on a seat with their arms.

Here is the great thing about that, when you touch them, they’re not made from hard plastic, they can bounce especially if you touch the weapons and the arms!

This flexibility was for a reason, which is to absorb the shocks in case of a crash since there are no doors to protect them. As expected from Arrma, they care about their men!

You can see the futuristic internal design of this RC car with the dashboard and the steering wheel on the driver’s seat.

In the middle between the driver and the passenger, there is a big rectangular dashboard with the name “Fireteam” on it.

There are a lot of other great details that you should check yourself after buying this RC beast!

In addition to this body, you can fit another body which is Kraton’s body. Yes, it can fit pretty well since some people don’t like the original body, so, if you’re one of them, you can replace it with Kraton’s body.

Arrma Fireteam 6s Chassis

Indeed, the body is not that wide, especially in the front. But once you remove the body, you’ll find that the Arrma Fireteam 6s chassis is so wide.

It is almost wider than the Arrma Kraton! Don’t forget that the Arrma Fireteam 6s is a 1/7 scale which is the same as the Mojave!

It’s a metal chassis that is hard to bend even if you jump as high as you can, so don’t worry about this.

The chassis of this RC car is the same as the Mojave chassis, especially in the middle where the electronics are like the central aluminum bar, the battery holder, the side steps, the motor as well as others.

However, when it comes to the suspension system, it’s another story.

The Arrma Fireteam 6s uses an independent suspension system with sway bars in the front and the rear as well as big bore shocks that are working so well ad doing a great job.

This independent suspension helps a lot off-road, especially at high speeds.

The Arrma Fireteam 6s comes also with heavy-duty suspension arms as well as long shocks which is something special for the EXB version.

In conclusion, the suspension of this RC car is made for hard roads and bashing. You can go all out, its handling is incredible!

Also, in the front, the Arrma Fireteam 6s comes with a front bumper that covers the body and absorbs any crash, it’s not a simple bumper as you think like in the other Arrma RC cars, it has a different design.

The same bumper is on the rear but with a bigger size, but there is an additional thing. It’s the braces which is something that normally we should see in the front as well.

The rear bumper is equipped with some big braces that look strong enough to absorb any shock. This is unlike the front that doesn’t come with any!

Regarding the middle of the chassis where the electronics are, other than the aluminum bar that we mentioned before, there are two other small bars linking to the center of the chassis for more handling.

Other than that, this chassis is perfectly built and there is nothing to complain about. I think this may be the strongest chassis that you could ever see on an Arrma RC car!

Arrma Fireteam 6s Tires

I’m pretty sure that some of the things that drew your attention in the Arrma Fireteam 6s are the wheels. They’re weird, right?

Well, those wheels are some of the best wheels you can have, they’re incredible. They come with airless tires

They’re built especially for this RC car. The great thing about these tires is the huge sidewall built from the same material. The wheels are so small that the tires take up most of the space.

Arrma Fireteam Performance

As you know, this is an Off-road RC car that comes ready to run with all the electronics except for the batteries and the charger.

To give you its full power, the Arrma Fireteam 6s requires 2 of 3s Lipo batteries, as well as the optional speed pinion gear that comes with it in the box.

Make sure not to run that much on the speed pinion gear since it will make your electronics heat and lose their performance.

With the Arrma Fireteam 6s, you can reach a top speed of 60mph, this is thanks to the Spektrum FIRMA 4074 2050Kv motor, the Spektrum FIRMA 150 SMART ESC as well as Spektrum S652 Digital Servo.

Of course, these are no the only parts that have made this RC car go this fast. We can say that every single part no matter how small it is has added some value.

With this Arrma Fireteam 6s, no matter where you are, you can enjoy driving and bashing. If you’re on-road, you can always go as fast as you can and enjoy that 60mph.

Arrma Fireteam 6s Transmitter and Receiver

When it comes to the transmitter and receiver, they have a big role in making the control easier for you.

With the Spektrum SLT3 2.4GHz 3 channel transmitter and the SR315 3 channel Dual Protocol Receiver, you can now enjoy a lot of features as well as drive this RC car comfortably without losing balance or control.

It would be better if the DX3 transmitter was instead of this one since it does come with a lot of additional features like the battery level indicator.

Still, the SLT3 also is a great transmitter, if you’re familiar with other Arrma RC cars that use the DX3 technology, you may miss some features, but, they’re not that necessary for you to enjoy your drive.

Some of the features you can have on this transmitter are the throttle limiter and the hand brake.

The throttle limiter allows you to limit the power or the acceleration to 50% or 75% depending on what you choose.

This feature is for beginners or children for security reasons.

The hand brake is another feature which is a hand brake like the one on any car, you can stop the rear wheels.

It’s a cool feature, however, using it a lot may hurt some electronics. So be careful with it.

The greatest feature that you can take leverage of is the Spektrum App thanks to the receiver.

As you know, the Spektrum Dashboard app is an “app” that you can install on your smartphone, connect it to the receiver using Bluetooth and see everything you need to know about your RC car on your phone.

That includes some info like the top speed as well as the temperature of the motor and more.

All these features will allow you to have a better driving experience.

Arrma Fireteam Upgrades

Since the Arrma Fireteam upgrades come mostly with plastic, you can find a lot of Aluminum parts in the aftermarket which is a great chance to upgrade your RC beast.

Those Aluminum upgrades are so important especially since the Arrma Fireteam 6s will need them in case you want to bash so hard.

But, you should be careful, sometimes, keeping the plastic parts is much better than upgrading to Aluminum o metal, those can bend if they don’t have good quality. On the other hand, the plastic parts may handle more because of their flexibility.

Annoying Things About the Arrma Fireteam 6s

The Arrma Fireteam 6s is a great RC car, the performance and the handling are incredible.

There is one thing that I was expecting more of, but, we can still go with it which is the transmitter.

As I mentioned earlier, I was expecting the DX3 transmitter which comes with a lot of powerful Arrma RC cars.

But, this won’t make any big problem, you can still enjoy your RC car with the SLT3 you have.

Other than that, this RC car is amazing.

Great Things About the Arrma Fireteam 6s

I’m pretty sure that you can list dozens and dozens of great things about the Arrma Fireteam 6s.

The details on the body, the tires, the chassis, all these things make this RC car an incredible beast that can handle any challenge you give it.

But the detail that drew my attention is the armed men’s arms. What I like about that is how Arrma thought about protecting them from breaking, so, they made flexible arms to absorb the shocks which was a smart move.

Also, I liked the fact that this RC car can go 60mph when it doesn’t appear that it can do that! I didn’t think it can do it, but it did it!

That’s because of the high pressure the chassis gets when landing, even if it is from metal or Aluminum, it’s just a matter of time before bending.

That’s why most people add another metal layer to strengthen their chassis.

The same thing goes for this RC car we’re reviewing today!

The Arrma Talion 6s is a not-good RC car for jumping. However, it has a super high speed by which you can go off-road without worrying!

The Design

Arrma Talion Body

At first glance, I’m pretty sure that you’ll confuse the Arrma Talion 6s with the Arrma Kraton since they have the same shape including the spoiler.

The talion looks even sportier than the Kraton though!

By looking at the shape of the Arrma Talion body, you will conclude that this is made for speed and that an aerodynamics-friendly design will help this RC car be faster and faster.

Let’s get into more details…

The Front

Other than the great design that the Arrma Talion body has, the front of that body is marked by that big bumper with “Arrma” written on it.

This bumper is covering the whole front body from left to right.

It’s indeed a part of the chassis, but, being in front of the body means that it is built for its protection.

Right above the bumper, there are the usual well-designed stickers from Arrma, the headlights, the air holes in the sides as well as the big fake grill in the middle.

This design looks a little bit minimalist, maybe like a new Audi or a Lamborghini (just maybe!).

On the top of the hood, there are two clips which are the traditional clips that Arrma make, I hope they started making clipless bodies like some other RC car brands. Still, they’re not ruining the look since they have the same color.

The Middle

All of this is great, but the better part is in the middle of the Arrma Talion 6s. Why? Because the window’s curve is so low, it’s almost at the same level as the hood which is crazy. No Arrma RC car that we reviewing on our website has this feature!

That’s what I call aerodynamics! This means that this RC car will get almost no resistance from the air when going at high speeds (for this part).

The windows aren’t real, they’re just stickers which is something we’re used to from Arrma, but it doesn’t matter since this is a speed RC car.

The Rear End

There are a lot of great details in the back of the Arrma Talion 6s with two clips.

But the major thing that will get your attention is the spoiler, indeed, it’s not a part of the body, it’s connected to the chassis.

The spoiler’s design is beautifully built, it’s divided into different parts and has a lot of lines in the middle.

Unfortunately, there is no wheelie bar connected to the spoiler like in the Notorious and the Outcast. Still, you can always get one in the aftermarket parts if you need to.

Arrma Talion Tires

Did you know that this RC car’s body is so low that the wheels are almost higher than it?

That’s crazy, but it’s helpful.

How is it helpful? Well, since the body is between the wheels, it’s protected by those tires.

Also, the Arrma Talion tires are the Belted multi-terrain dBoots^® Katar tires which are high quality and you’ll have a lot of fun burning them!

The design of the wheels also makes you think that this RC car is made for speed, they’re almost closed with small holes in the sides.

Arrma Talion 6s Chassis

The great thing about the Arrma Talion 6s is not only the low body, it comes also with a low and wide chassis that helps a lot with handling especially at high speeds.

In addition to that, once you remove the body, you’ll see that the structure is almost the same as the other Arrma RC cars especially like the Mojave and the Kraton.

Of course, there are some small changes to the Mojave like the suspension system since this RC car is closer to the ground.

Also, there are a lot of Aluminum parts, especially the central bar that is passing along the middle of the chassis as well as the small bars supporting it. It’s an EXB version, after all, that’s what we would expect!

The shock towers also come with built-in Aluminum as well as the shocks. That will boost the reliability of the Arrma Talion 6s by far, now, you don’t have to worry about landing from jumps. And I mean by jumps long ones, not high ones!

High jumps are a little bit dangerous for the Arrma Talion 6s because it has a low-ground chassis, also, that chassis is made from Aluminum that can bend with a lot of jumping.

It’s indeed hard to bend because of the light weight of this RC car, but, you better avoid high jumps. Otherwise, other another metal layer to your chassis and go wild!

In the front, there is the bumper which is a part of the chassis as mentioned earlier, it’s not connected directly to the suspension arms, instead, there are some braces in between to help to absorb the shock in case of a crash to protect in the internal parts.

Other than that, it’s similar to what we’re used to seeing in the other Arrma RC cars, double suspension arms, and adjustable shock towers in case you changed the body.

When it comes to the rear, it’s the same structure with small changes, for example, there are no double arms.

Also, the shock tower in the rear is doing a multiple-role job like the assembly of the Aluminum bars supporting the chassis, it works also as a shock tower which is its normal mission, and at the same time, it’s holding the rear spoiler.

Other than that, the Arrma Talion 6s chassis comes with normal internal parts like the motor, the ESC, the servo as well as others. (More details in the performance section).

If you’re asking about the material of the chassis, it’s a 3 millimeters thick 7075 Aluminum chassis which is the same type for all Arrma army, it comes with a lot of screws that are connected to the different parts so that it would be easy for you to replace them or take them off.

If you want to avoid the headache of the chassis’s bending, you can always add another metal layer to support it and make it harder.

In general, this chassis is filled with engineering! The closer you get, the more details you’ll see, and the more stunned you’ll be! It’s just crazy!

Arrma Talion Performance

As mentioned earlier, the chassis of the Arrma Talion 6s has a low ground clearance which means that you will be able to go at a high speed without worrying a lot about losing balance and getting flipped over.

Also, even in sharp corners, you can still turn at a high speed with no flip-over. That’s the reason this RC car has been made for!

For the Arrma Talion 6s, it doesn’t matter where you drive, whether it’s off-road or on-road, you can fully enjoy it, especially in the speed test, if you love the speed of course.

The Arrma Talion 6s can achieve +70mph which is a high speed. To achieve this, it uses a group of electronics that are all from Spektrum, that includes the 2050Kv Brushless Motor, the Smart waterproof 4S/6S ESC, and the S652 Steel-Geared waterproof digital servo as well as the DX3 Smart DSMR^® Radio, and SR6110AT AVC^® receiver.

All these parts have a big role in making this RC car reach what’s reaching now!

Of course, the engineering behind the body and the chassis are also major contributors.

In addition to that, to reach this high speed, you need to add one 6s Lipo battery or two 3s Lipo batteries as well as the optional speed pinion gear that comes with the RC car in the box.

Other than that, all you need is to get it out of the box and go racing because this is a Ready-To-Run RC car.

You can reach 70mph on-road while you can reach a close speed to that off-road which is great in both cases!

Controlling this speed won’t be as easy as you expect without the help of the systems including the transmitter and the receiver!

Arrma Talion 6s Transmitter and Receiver

As mentioned earlier, the Arrma Talion 6s transmitter and receiver are the DX3 Smart DSMR^® Radio and SR6110AT AVC^® receiver.

This transmitter is one of the best transmitters you can have. It’s the same as the Outcast 8s which comes with a lit of features that help you control and know more about your RC car as well.

The first feature that we should shed light on which is the AVC Active Vehicle Control. This system helps you keep your RC car going in s straight line by turning the wheels automatically to keep balance.

This feature may not be a good one for On-road racing, but, it’s helpful off-road.

There are also some other features like the battery level indicator that shows you the level of the battery of your RC car.

You can adjust the wheels turning angle as well as the power of acceleration which are all important if you’re just learning.

By mentioning learning, the transmitter of the Arrma Talion 6s comes with the ability to limit the throttle to 50% or 75% depending on what you want. This way, you’re avoiding the danger of losing control over an RC beast that can go 70mph.

Arrma Talion Upgrades

Annoying Things About the Arrma Talion 6s

There are a lot of things that I like about the Arrma Talion 6s.

However, there are some other things I don’t like or I wish they were there!

For example, I miss the wheelie bar that I used to see on the other Arrma RC cars. It’s so important even in this RC car since it can accelerate instantly which makes the front wheels lift and lose traction.

Still, you can get an aftermarket one.

Other than that, the Arrma Talion 6s looks fantastic and powerful.

Great Things About the Arrma Talion 6s

There are a lot of great things about the Arrma Talion 6s, there are some great points that I would like to show you:

If you check the rear of this body, where the rear clips are installed, there is a great drawing there. That’s a lot of details there.

The low ground clearance that the Arrma Talion 6s makes it able to drift and handle even the sharpest corners with high speeds which is incredible.

In addition to these small details, the Arrma Talion 6s has everything you need for an RC car on-road as well as off-road.

Arrma Notorious Design

Arrma Notorious Body

If you’re familiar with the Arrma Outcast or have seen our full review of it, you’ll notice that the Arrma Notorious V5 has the same body as the Outcast. This is if you didn’t think that they’re the same RC car.

However, there is something about the Arrma Notorious body that you won’t find in the Outcast, it’s the paint.

The paint of the Arrma Notorious V5 body can be scratched quickly, this technique is done on purpose so when you scratch it, it will look like a realistic metal body. Especially since this body is more classic than the one on the Outcast.

The Arrma Notorious body comes in two colors, Black and Blue, the paint is simple with no graphics all over it except for the sides on the doors precisely.

The front

When it comes to the front, it’s almost like the Outcast, it’s more classic though, there are some additional curves there that give you the feeling that this is a 90s design.

The headlights also are different, they’re more like normal rectangular ones with a small grill in the middle.

On top of the hood, there are two clips linked to the body so that when you take them off, they stay connected to the body to avoid losing them.

In the middle top of the body, you’ll see the strongest roll bar on any RC car, the same roll bar comes with the Outcast. This roll bar is so important since it absorbs all the shocks to protect the body as much as possible.

There are no skids to give that extra protection to the disappointing top, but the roll bar is doing a great job.

The Rear

When it comes to the rear of Arrma’s Notorious body, you’ll see those two other clips as well as that big wing that we can’t ignore of course.

By the way, this spoiler is not connected to the body, but the chassis.

So, if you’re looking at the body alone, you’ll see that it’s so simple, just some redlight stickers on the back.

Overall, the Arrma Notorious V5 body is the same as the Arrma Notorious V4, nothing has changed.

There were some changes in other areas of the RC car that we will talk about in the next sections.

Other than that, this body is well designed and unique especially regarding the painting technique to add a more realistic look to it.

Arrma Notorious V5 Chassis

Here is the thing about the Arrma Notorious V5 chassis, it looks almost like the Chassis of the Outcast.

What makes the difference is the width of this chassis. The chassis of the Outcast is wider than the one of the Arrma Notorious V5.

Also, some details are different of course.

The front

As mentioned earlier, the chassis of the two RC cars are almost the same, except for some details like the front.

The Arrma Notorious V5 comes with the same bumper, but there are no braces after it to add more security to the suspension system.

There is a small space though between the shock and the suspension arms, so it might be enough to handle the pressure of the crash.

Right after that, comes the shocks and the suspension arms, they look the same in the building and the structure as the Outcast.

They’re connected to the shock tower which is adjustable in case you want to have an aftermarket body.

The great thing about this chassis is the protection that is providing it for the internal parts. On each side in the front, two big bumpers prevent the mud and dust thrown from the wheels from entering.

The chassis of the Arrma Notorious V5 is a metal chassis, it s hard to bend if you’re jumping high, you can even support it with another metal layer to increase its life span.

In the middle of the chassis, you’ll notice that the Arrma Notorious V5 is not the same as the V4, they’re different.

Now you can’t distinguish between the chassis of the Outcast and the one of the Notorious V5. It’s hard except if you see the size.

As you know, there is a passing bar taking from the front to the rear, it’s not divided in the middle, it’s a one-piece like the one on the Kraton 8s. This bar is supported in the middle.

What’s different than the Outcast is the other two bars that meet in the middle of the chassis, they’re not Aluminum, they’re built-in plastic.

Other than that, the Arrma Notorious V5 comes with all the internal parts that any other RC car comes with including a motor, an ESC, a servo, and a receiver as well as others.

The Rear

In general, the rear part of the chassis has the same structure as the font except for the suspension arms that come as double in the front while there is just one suspension arm in the rear for each wheel.

The spoiler of the Arrma Notorious V5 is so huge. It is similar to the one on the Infraction and the Outcast perfectly fits the body and gives it a great look.

And we can’t forget the wheelie bar that is hiding under that big spoiler, it’s the same position as the wheelie bar of the Outcast to make your RC car able to go on a 90° degree! (You should have some skills to do that!)

Other than that, the Arrma Notorious V5 chassis is incredibly built despite having less protection and reliability than the Outcast chassis.

Arrma Notorious V5 Performance

The Arrma Notorious V5 is an off-road RC car that you can drive in-road as well.

It can reach up to 60mph using a Spektrum Firma 4074 2050Kv Brushless Motor, Spektrum Firma 150A Smart ESC with 6s Lipo battery, and an S652 Digital Servo.

To run at 60mph, you need to replace the pinion gear with the one that comes in the box with the car.

You can run the Arrma Notorious V5 on a 4s Lipo battery if you want to limit the top speed and the acceleration as well.

The motor comes with no fan or heatsink, maybe because it doesn’t have any heating problem, or, you should have one to prevent damage.

Unlike the Outcast, the Arrma Notorious V5 doesn’t come with a lot of different versions, the only version that is available in this one we’re reviewing is no EXB version comes with no electronics either.

This means that this RC car is ready-to-run.

What’s new? Arrma Notorious V5 vs V4

As we’re reviewing the Arrma Notorious V5, we mentioned some new updates and changes that occurred in the new version like the new body, the new chassis as well as the change of some electronics.

The biggest changes though were in the chassis as well as the electronics, this means that the performance has also changed to be better, stronger, and faster which is true!

The first thing that you’ll notice when comparing the Arrma Notorious V5 vs V4 is the change of the material of the chassis from plastic to aluminum which is better since it can strengthen and increase the reliability of this RC car.

The other big change that has occurred is at the level of the receiver and the transmitter, these two were supported by Tactic which has changed to Spektrum which is much better.

In general, those were the major updates that made the Arrma Notorious V5 the RC car that we see today, powerful, strong, and reliable.

When it comes to jumps and high altitudes, you don’t need to worry about your Arrma Notorious V5, it’s not like that fat Outcast (Outcast fans, just kidding) this is a light RC car, so jumping won’t break it, especially that there is a metal chassis down there!

Arrma Notorious V5 Transmitter and Receiver

As we mentioned before, the Arrma Notorious V5 transmitter and receiver have been updated from Tactic to Spektrum.

These two are doing a great job and will help you get the most out of your Arrma Notorious V5!

The receiver is the Spektrum SR315 Dual Protocol 3-Channel Receiver which is waterproof. This receiver can connect with the SLT and the DSMR which are other types of protocols that help you connect to other transmitters.

The transmitter on the other side is the Spektrum SLT3 2.4GHz 3-Channel Radio, you can upgrade this transmitter to the DSMR.

This will allow you to unlock some features like the Spektrum Dashboard App where you can see all your RC car’s info like the temperature of the motor as well as the top speed and actual speed.

There is also another cool feature which is the Active Vehicle Control (AVC).

This feature helps you maintain a straight direction when driving your RC car especially off-road where it’s easy to lose control over your Arrma Notorious V5 because of the lack of grip.

In addition to that, you can control the intensity or the impact of this feature on your RC car using the transmitter.

Other than that, the Arrma Notorious V5 transmitter comes with some beginner-friendly features like the throttle limit where you can limit the acceleration to 50% or 75%.

So, whether you want to upgrade the Arrma Notorious V5 because you want to, or you want o to replace a broken part, you’ll find what you’re searching for easily. No worries about that!

Annoying Things About the Arrma Notorious V5

The fact that the Arrma Notorious V5 is similar to the Outcast makes you reassured since the Outcast is well known for its reliability, which is a good thing.

The dark side of this fact though is that the Outcast comes with a different version and the most similar version to the Arrma Notorious V5 is the 6s Outcast.

This is a good thing for the company since they will earn money whether you buy this RC car or that one.

However, for you, it may be a little confusing, they have almost the same shape, the same performance, and even the same features.

Maybe the Arrma Notorious V5 is a little cheaper, some of you will decide based on the price, but it’s still confusing for a lot of people!

That’s because the first question that comes to mind is “Why the Arrma Notorious V5 is cheaper than the Outcast while they have a lot of common things!” what’s the difference?

In general, that is a bad side that made me ask myself what’s the reason for creating two similar RC cars for almost the same price.

Still, if I were you, I may choose the Arrma Notorious V5 over the Outcast, otherwise, I would choose the Outcast 8s and not the 6s. I’m spending money anyway, so, why don’t I spend it on the best quality, right?

Other than that, the Arrma Notorious V5 is a great RC car and you’ll enjoy owning it.

Great Things About the Arrma Notorious V5

Everything that has been said on the Arrma Notorious V5 is incredible.

Still, some of the great things that I liked about this RC car is this new update from V4 to V5.

There is a big improvement in terms of performance, handling, and reliability.

So, if you already have an Arrma Notorious V4, you should go to the V5, it’s much better.

The realistic body paint is also something that I see for the first time on an RC car, it’s creative and perfect.

Maybe if you love saving things to stay for a long time with you, you will hate scratching this RC car, but it’s fun at the same time.

As mentioned earlier, the price of the Arrma Notorious V5 is affordable especially since it is less than its similar RC car the Outcast 6s.

Arrma Outcast 8s Design

Arrma Outcast 8s Body

If you’re familiar with Arrma RC cars, the first thing you’ll notice when you see the Arrma Outcast 8s is how similar it is to Arrma Infraction.

Everything is similar even the details like the skids, the rear wings as well as the bars in the rear.

We can say that this is a bigger version of the Arrma infraction’s body with some small changes and upgrades.

When I say bigger, it’s really big, this is a 1/5 scale RC car, which means that it’s even bigger than the Kraton and the Big Rock!

The Arrma Outcast 8s body version comes only with Red color while the other versions like the Arrma Outcast 6s and 4s and even the EXB that comes with no electronics can have other colors like Blue and Black.

The Front

The front Arrma Outcast 8s body looks similar to that of the Infraction, especially in the headlights. They have the same round headlights.

Also, under the headlights, there is a small bumper with the body (I’m not talking about the black one that is a part of the chassis).

The top of the Arrma Outcast 8s is protected by those skids which are perfect to increase the life span of the body.

The Rear

In the rear, right after the skids, there are the support bars, they can increase also the protection as well as the support since they’re connected to the internal cage.

Concerning the spoiler, it does come with the body, it’s connected to the chassis despite looking like it’s a part of the Arrma Outcast 8s body.

In the end, you have a great well-protected body, it doesn’t come with a lot of colors for the 8s version. Also, it doesn’t come with a lot of stickers, it’s just one color-painted body with a few stickers on the sides.

So, for this Arrma Outcast 8s body, it looks incredible, nothing to complain about!

Arrma Outcast 8s Chassis

What’s new in the Arrma Outcast 8s Chassis?

As I mentioned earlier, the Arrma Outcast 8s chassis has the same base as the Kraton 8s.

When you first take off the body and see the chassis, you’ll notice how similar the chassis of the Kraton and the Outcast 8s are.

But, the special thing about the Arrma Outcast 8s chassis is the additional upgrades that Arrma has added to improve the durability and the handling of this RC beast.

For example, the Kraton chassis comes with a long bar that will draw your attention once you see it, it’s taking from the front to the end of the chassis as support which is powerful.

However, it can bend quickly after some jumps, this is why n the Arrma Outcast 8s chassis, there are two bars, the first one is taking from the front to the middle while the other is taking from the middle to the end.

The other problem that the Kraton has and was fixed in the Arrma Outcast 8s is the chassis’s bottom metal skid that wasn’t strong enough to hold the Kraton.

In the Arrma Outcast 8s, they shortened it and gave it more stiffness and support. That’s incredible.

You can add another layer of yours if you want to make sure it won’t bend again!

The chassis is so high than the ground which makes the Arrma Outcast 8s perfect for off-roading which is easy for it. The big wheels and the wide chassis also have a big role in the handling and stability of this RC car.

The Front of the Chassis

When it comes to the front of the chassis, you’ll see a small long bumper with two braces right behind it to increase the protection of the internal parts and the absorption of the shock.

The huge shock towers are made from plastic, still, they’re pretty reliable and can do the job incredibly fine.

What surprised me about the Arrma Outcast 8s is the suspension system, those shocks are massive and convenient for handling this beast’s weight.

Also, there are double arms for perfect extra support.

The Rear of the Chassis

In the rear, there is almost the same structure as the suspension system as well as the shock tower.

The additional thing is the big spoiler that we mentioned earlier. It’s as big as the one on the Kraton, but, it is shorter.

Whether it’s long or short, it will help with the downforce of the air to create more balance, especially when going at high speed.

Right under the spoiler, there is the wheelie bar, a small one connected to the end of the spoiler.

The great thing I liked about it is the place where it’s located. Why? Because this is a high RC car, placing the wheelie bar in its usual place won’t work at all.

But placing it in the rear of the wing is a great idea.

Now, you don’t have to worry about the high acceleration of the Arrma Outcast 8s, you can even have fun lifting the front wheels and going that way. It’s really fun.

Regarding the internal parts, they’re all protected by a huge side of the chassis with a big “ARRMA” written on the sides.

Other than that, every single part of this RC car is huge, we will talk more about these parts in the performance section.

Arrma Outcast 8s Performance

Off-Roading Performance

As we wrote earlier in the previous sections, whether you drive the Arrma Outcast 8s on or off-road, you’ll have a lot of fun with it.

These new chassis upgrades have boosted its handling and reliability, so now, you don’t have to worry about breaking this RC beast.

Still, there is one thing that you may break, it’s easy to fix though. It’s the shocks.

Due to the heavy weight that the Arrma Outcast 8s comes with, doing high jumps and landing hard is one of the reasons you can have your shock taken off the suspension arms.

Usually, the rear shocks are the ones that have this problem since the rear of the RC car is the part that gets the highest pressure especially when landing.

Even though the heavy weight of this RC car is, the other parts are handling it very well, there is no problem with the chassis bending, not with the central bar or the central driveshaft, everything is perfectly fine.

The shocks are the only problem here. You can fix them by putting them back, OR, you can go for some new upgrades that may be a good solution.

Other than that, the Arrma Outcast 8s is a beast that you should try because you’ll enjoy it so much.

What is the Arrma Outcast 8s Top Speed?

Concerning driving the Arrma Outcast 8s on-road, it’s also a great idea, however, it’s not as exciting as driving off-road and going through water and mud and testing the true abilities of the chassis and the internal parts.

The Arrma Outcast 8s being an 8s gives you automatically the impression that this is a fast RC car which it is.

The second one is the Arrma Outcast 6s which has a medium size and medium power as well. It’s a great alternative for you if the 8s version is a little expensive. The 6s is more affordable.

The third one is the Arrma Outcast 8s EXB which comes with no electronics. When you buy this RC car, it’s so affordable, it’s even cheaper than the 6s.

However, filling it with electronics, and I mean high-quality electronics that will show you the true power of this RC car is expensive, and you may add more than the price you bought it with.

Great Things About Arrma Outcast 8s

If you look under the wheelie bar on the rear bumper as well as on eh front bumper, you’ll find a small car plate with the name Outcast on it. It’s great detail out there, isn’t it?

As you know, the Arrma Vorteks is a stadium truck. This means that its body will be a combination between the powerful and the sporty body type which is exciting.

Seeing the Arrma Vorteks body will give you the impression that this is the perfect RC truck that its body has every single piece of equipment that makes it able to give you goosebumps every time you see it!

It is true that if you have something like the Big Rock, the Arrma Vorteks body might seem a little small in comparison to its chassis which is true.

But what you need to know is the bigger the body is, the easier it is to be broken. The smaller the body is, the stronger it gets.

Furthermore, the Arrma Vorteks come in three colors, red, purple, and green. These colors are not the only ones on the body, but they are more outstanding than the other colors.

I think that some of the things that will make you think a little bit before you buy the Arrma Vorteks are choosing the colors.

The front

With those aggressive sharp headlights and high-quality body paint job.

The front of the Arrma Vorteks body is protected by a small part of the bumper stuck to the chassis (More info in the chassis section below).

Even if it’s a small part, it has a great value in protecting the body against direct shocks and crashes.

On top of the Arrma Vorteks, there are two plastic skids. These plastic skids can protect the top of the body in case of a flip-over, no one wants to ruin that great paint!

The great thing about the front of the Arrma Vorteks body is the big wheels. How’s that? Those big wheels are acting as support and protectors to the front of the body, especially from the sides.

That will make your RC car more secure.

But there is a downside about that as well (More details in the Arrma Vorteks wheels section).

The Rear

When it comes to the rear of the body, you’ll find some interesting details, they’re not real but still make the Arrma Vorteks look cool.

Those details are black painted, they contain two other clips within which makes them hard to see. This way, the clips won’t ruin the look of the RC car like the front ones

And of course, we can’t ignore that big spoiler. It’s a simple spoiler but it helps a lot with aerodynamics and the increase of downforce, especially when going at high speeds.

Another cool feature that is not available on all Arrma RC cars is the wheelie bar that comes with this vehicle, it’s so important to maintain the balance when accelerating.

And, in the back end, you’ll find the redlight stickers that look beautiful as well.

In conclusion, this body looks simpler than the other Arrma RC cars, but it has the best equipment for the best protection possible.

So, you don’t have to worry about changing your Arrma Vorteks body every time because it breaks!

Arrma Vorteks Chassis

Let’s remove the body and see what’s underneath it. It’s the Arrma Vorteks chassis of course. (not funny I know)

First of all, the Arrma Vorteks comes as a Ready to run RC car, which means that you won’t find any missing electronics or parts that you should buy except for the batteries of the car and the transmitter.

This is something we’re used to.

In comparison to the Big Rock and the Granite, you’ll notice that Arrma Vorteks has a lower chassis (low ground clearance).

This is not a disadvantage since this RC car is made for speed as well as off-road. You can go anywhere with no problems at all.

The other advantage is the fact that the chassis is located between these wheels, it’s protected and can have a longer lifespan.

This low ground clearance is because of the short shock towers and shocks.

The arms are also short which makes this RC car smaller in terms of width in comparison to the Big Rock. However, it’s easier to control.

The front bumper that we mentioned earlier comes with an additional brace that keeps it a little far from the shocks and a shock tower for extra protection.

The structure of the suspension system in the rear of the Arrma Vorteks chassis is a little bit stiffer than the front with wider arms and more diagonal shocks.

The wheelie bar is an important part that we shouldn’t ignore especially after you how to drive this RC car without using the front wheels, all you’re using are the rear wheels and the wheelie bar. It’s so fun, you should try it if you didn’t yet.

Arrma Vorteks Wheels

The Arrma Vorteks wheels are the dBoots Katar. They come with vented tires that have a high grip especially on-road.

Thanks to the rear wheelie bar, you will be able to control this Arrma Vorteks in case of full throttle, otherwise, someone would be dead!

The great thing about these vented tires is the holes that have been put on the outside surface to get rid of the water easily.

By the way, the Arrma Vorteks wheels come with 14mm hexes which are uncommon around the other Arrma RC cars, so, if you’d like to buy some new hexes for this RC car, make sure you consider that.

After all, the Arrma Vorteks chassis is really great and well built, indeed, t doesn’t come with so many metal and Aluminum parts, but that hard plastic is also a great solution to avoid bending the hard parts.

Arrma Vorteks Performance

Let me tell you this, of all the Arrma RC trucks that you will try and drive, the Arrma Vorteks is the best one that you’re going to have fun with.

You can enjoy the high speed that this RC car can reach on-road as well as the high jumps and great landings off-road. Everything is fun about it.

But, how fast is the Arrma Vorteks?

From its design, you know that the Arrma Vorteks is made for speed. This RC truck can reach up to 60 mph which is almost 96 Km/h.

This speed is the result of the combination of a SPEKTRUM FIRMA BRUSHLESS 3200Kv motor, a Spektrum FIRMA 100A SMART ESC that worked with a 3s Lipo battery, and the optional speed pinion gear that comes in the box.

The original pinion gear that comes in the vehicle won’t be able to reach that speed, but, it can reach a close number like 55mph. This is the perfect speed for an RTR RC car.

Also, the 3s Lipo battery isn’t the only option that you have, you can even include a 2s Lipo if you want to decrease the speed.

Some of you may be concerned about the downsides of this high speed like the high temperature of the motor, well, you don’t have to worry about it because this motor is equipped with a heatsink and a cooling fan.

The servo that comes with the Arrma Vorteks is the SPEKTRUM S651 metal servo, it does a great job and handles all the pressure with no problems. Still, you can always upgrade it since this RC car is easy to upgrade.

The performance of the Arrma Vorteks won’t be complete until we have some systems in place that will help you the driver, have better control and an incredible experience with your Arrma Vorteks.

Arrma Vorteks Transmitter and Receiver

There are some great systems that the Arrma Vorteks comes with. They won’t only help you control your RC car only, but also, they will help you know more about it!

The Arrma Vorteks comes with the Spektrum DX3 Radio and SR2000A AVC Receiver.

This transmitter is equipped with a lot of qualities and features that you will have so much fun using.

The first feature that this Arrma Vorteks transmitter comes with is the AVC which is the Active Vehicle Control that Armma is well known by.

The AVC is s steering system that supports you while driving. It turns the wheels automatically to help you keep in the same direction.

This is so helpful in off-roading where the grip of the tires is weak and the car is hard to control.

On high speeds, this is not recommended, but, you can still use it.

We can’t forget the Spektrum Dashboard App that you can download on your smartphone and enjoy watching your RC car’s info there including the actual and top speed, the temperature as well as more features that you should discover!

In addition to that, you can adjust the impact of this system on the wheels, or you can even turn it off completely which is the favorite thing to do for a lot of Arrma fans.

Alongside the AVC, the Arrma Vorteks transmitter has also other features like the brake rate as well as the limiting throttle that can limit the acceleration to 50% or 75% depending on what you want.

There is another feature in the transmitter about the battery, it gives you the ability to check the battery level of your vehicle using some light indicators.

There are 4 battery indicators, if they’re all turned on, your battery level is 100%, if 2 of them are turned on, 50% battery level, and so on… each indicator represents 25%.

Since the Arrma Vorteks parts are mostly built of plastic, if you’d like to upgrade, you’re more likely to upgrade with the same plastic parts which are good or the harder Aluminum parts.

What about changing them? Is it easy or do you need a specialist?

You don’t need any specialists, everything is easy and simple to set up. All you need is to open those screws in the bottom of the chassis. Some parts have just one screw, others have multiple.

They’re easy to take off and put back.

You can upgrade everything from the suspension arms, the shocks, spur gear, hubs as well as a lot more…

So, don’t worry about the Arrma Vorteks upgrades.

Annoying Things About the Arrma Vorteks

I can say that the Arrma Vorteks is one of the best RC trucks that I have ever reviewed on this website.

Everything we talked about up to now is great and incredibly perfect.

However, there is something I noticed when driving this RC car off-road, it’s hard to drive it.

Here is why. As mentioned earlier, the Arrma Vortekstires have a high grip on flat surfaces like the normal road, but they can’t make that grip off-road.

As a result, without the AVC system, this thing is so hard to control and you’ll have always a problem going in a straight line.

Luckily, this is already solved, all you need to do is to enable the AVC to help you control it. Then, you’ll see that driving has become better and easier.

Another small problem that you should be aware of is the wheels.

As you know, the Arrma Vortekstires are so big in comparison to the chassis, this has a bright side which is a good view and a great performance.

The bad side though is the fact that when the front wheels turn, they touch and rub the body which can impact the performance as well as the body quality. This is why those tires need some trimming.

Other than that, the Arrma Vorteks is a great RC car and you’ll enjoy playing with it.

Great Things About the Arrma Vorteks

There are a lot of great things about the Arrma Vorteks that a lot of its rivals from the other Arrma RC cars don’t have.

One of them is the high-quality transmitter and receiver which is something I find that Arrma ignores a little bit in their RC cars.

The body paintwork is also incredible.

In addition to these, the Arrma Vorteks is not specialized for high jumps because of the low ground clearance, but, you can still do some great jumps with it in a condition not to send it so high to prevent damaging it.

Other than that, it’s a perfect RC car with a perfect body and chassis.

Arrma Vorteks Price

If you’re familiar with the rivals of the Arrma Vorteks like the Granite, the Big Rock, and the Senton, you’ll notice that the RC truck we’re reviewing today has some advantages and features that they don’t have.

Features like the AVC, the high-quality transmitter, and receiver, the well-equipped body with skids and spoiler as well as others.

All these features make the Arrma Vorteks price a little higher than the rest.

First of all, we should agree on something. This RC car’s name isn’t pronounced Mojave with a “j” but with an “h”, it’s pronounced “Mohave”. That might be weird, but, that is the way it is!

The Arrma Mojave is holding a lot of secrets and a big ability under the hood. You should discover that.

This is why in this article, we will talk about the design, the performance as well as everything else about this RC beast.

The Design

Arrma Mojave Body

What’s special about the Arrma Mojave size, in general, is how big it is. No matter how you imagine its size even after seeing it in a picture, it’s different in reality. It’s really big.

The Arrma Mojave body comes as a pickup truck like the Arrma Big Rock and Granite. However, this body is a little bit advanced, it does come with more details and more cool secrets.

At first glance, the body looks so strong, rigid, and more importantly: realistic.

The realistic features are what make this RC beast looks different.

Those front headlights are indeed just stickers, but, I know very well that when you saw this RC car, you doubted them, right?

There are not only realistic details but also extra protection that none of the other Arrma RC cars have.

For example, the bar in the middle of the grill has an important role in absorbing direct hits to the body.

Also, the front bumper is not made from hard plastic, it’s made from rubber, and it’s so soft and flexible.

The role of that bumper is to absorb crashes and also not be a burden on the car in case of a bad landing.

This bumper isn’t completely visible, there is another hard part covered with the body to support it.

But here is the surprise, this bumper that we were talking about all the time isn’t a part of the body itself, it’s a part of the chassis.

But since it does look like a part of the Arrma Mojave body, I wanted to include it in this section.

When it comes to the top of the body, it is equipped with skids to prevent hurting the body in case of a flip-over. They take the hit instead of it.

On the inside, there is another body internal cage that supports the body and makes it more challenging.

Nothing of all these things will surprise you, because this is the only Arrma RC car with some details inside the body!

YES, you have two men drivers sitting there with all the details including the belt, the helmet, the posture with their steering wheel, and the dashboard. They have even the internal cage that the real rally cars have. Isn’t that cool?

The Rear

Regarding the rear, the feature that will draw your attention the most is the rear windows, those little windows allow the air that enters from the front to quit the vehicle easily. This setup reminds me of the Arrma Limitless which has a similar shape in the rear

On the other hand, the details on the rear of the Arrma Mojave body are so cool. There are some fire extinguishers, spare gas cans, and a rear axle. All these details are of course fake, but, they’re still looking cool!

Arrma Mojave Chassis

When we’re talking about the chassis of the Arrma Mojave, you should differentiate between two types. Why?

Because there are two types of Mojaves!

There is the Ready-To-Run version and there is the Arrma Mojave EXB.

Let me give you an idea about the EXB version.

Simply, this version doesn’t come with any electronics, all you have is the chassis which is almost the same as the RTR.

Deciding which electronics to add is your choice. This version is for the experts that have reached a level where they want to create their RC cars, they want to be creative in combining the electronics and see the outcome.

The RTR version is compatible with beginners and experts. After all, all you have to do is to unbox it, add some batteries for the transmitter and the RC car and you’re ready to go.

For the chassis, both versions have the same metal chassis, the only difference is the electronics.

They’re all the same, the only difference is the electronics. So, anything you read in this article can be applied to the Arrma Mojave EXB (Except for the electronics and systems section).

The Front Of The Chassis

When it comes to the front, as mentioned in the section before, the Arrma Mojave has that big bumper where the first half is a flexible rubber that bounces in case of a crash while the other half comes with hard plastic.

Between the bumper and the shocks, there are two braces, these braces have a great ability to absorb any hit. That’s a good strategy to protect the internal parts from the impact of the shock which makes this RC car so reliable.

Regarding the body mounts, it’s not a normal body mount. It’s built on 4 plastic poles. The reason is to protect the shocks that are placed under it.

The same structure goes for the rear as well.

The Rear

Concerning the rear, there is a big bumper containing two layers of hard plastic. It looks so strong and reliable and hard to break.

The sides have also bumpers each. They act like protectors as well as handles if you want to put them on the wall.

Other than that, the middle of the Arrma Mojave chassis looks cool with great parts and electronics. The platform looks almost like the Arrma Limitless.

What will draw your attention is the Aluminum bar passing through the chassis with support in the middle.

We will talk more about electronics in the next section.

But, here is the thing, this version that we are reviewing today is the V2 which is the second version of the first Arrma Mojave.

This new one comes with some new updates, especially in the suspension system.

Some of these new updates are the arms that become so thick and strong, the same thing goes for the shock towers. On the other hand, there are some Aluminum parts included like the nuts and the buckles.

In the end, this new update has added a lot of new strong parts, it made the Arrma Mojave chassis stronger and stronger and more reliable than before.

So, if you’re looking for something that can hold and handle a lot of pressure, make sure you get this RC beast!

Arrma Mojave Performance

I’m pretty sure that after seeing all these features that the Arrma Mojave has, you’ll know that this RC car is not a normal one.

The Arrma Mojave can reach up to +60mph using a Spektrum FIRMA 4074 2050Kv brushless motor, and a Spektrum FIRMA 150 SMART ESC compatible with 6s Lipo or two 3s Lipo batteries.

The motor has a cooling fan and a heatsink included to keep the temperature low.

Also, the ESC is waterproof which makes this RC car able to bash and pass through all types of terrains.

Of course, these electronics are not the only parts that have a role in reaching this speed.

This RC beast also comes with a powerful Spektrum S652 Digital servo and pinion gear.

By the way, the pinion gear that comes fixed in the Arrma Mojave isn’t speeding. You won’t be able to reach 60mph with it.

Instead, in the box, there is another pinion gear that Arrma sends with your RC car, this is the speed pinion gear that you can reach that speed with.

They’re all metal gears, so don’t worry about breaking them, they handle pretty well.

Everything about this RC car is perfectly made and done.

For such a strong RC car to perform, the quality of the wheels is so important, and so the wheels.

These Arrma Mojave wheels are mounted and have a high fraction. Still, you can drift with this RC car on and off-road. That’s amazing.

Overall, no problem is found with the wheels, they’re built perfectly.

But what I liked the most is the suspension performance that gives you the ability to skip anything including rocks so smoothly.

This suspension has a big role in keeping this RC car balanced while going at high speeds off-road.

Also, the Mojave isn’t made for off-roading only, driving this thing on-road is also so fun and amazing.

Still, the power of this RC car isn’t supported only by these parts, some systems will make your experience way better than this.

Arrma Mojave Systems

Sometimes, the systems may not add a lot of power or control to the vehicle, but, they give you, the driver, a better experience and enjoyment to play more and have fun.

And when we’re talking about systems, we’re talking about the receiver and the transmitter.

For the transmitter, the Arrma Mojave comes with a Spektrum SLT3 Radio control and a Spektrum SR315 receiver.

This is a great fit for such an RC car.

Unfortunately, there is no AVC which is Active Vehicle Control that keeps your RC car going in a straightway and prevents it from losing balance.

Other than the radio control contains the usual features that any RC car comes with like the 50% or 75% throttle limit and the hand brakes that are so amazing.

You can also get the Spektrum Dashboard App that allows you to learn more info about your Arrma Mojave from your smartphone using Bluetooth.

Arrma Mojave Upgrades

To be honest with you, if you’re thinking that after buying this RC car you’ll need some replacement parts, you’re wrong!

It’s hard to break this thing. This may be funny especially if you’re a bad driver and basher, but, you’ll have to put a lot of effort to break this RC car.

Because this RC car is made for that, to begin with!

However, you will need to buy some Arrma Mojave upgrades and parts if you want to change the look or change the building material.

For example, if you want to replace the plastic arms that come with the stock version with Aluminum, then, you would need them.

These upgrades are available and most likely, you won’t find any problem getting them even if these parts are for the Arrma Mojave only.

Other than that, you can upgrade and replace anything you want.

Also, you can replace them yourself easily because of the easy access that Arrma usually includes in their vehicles’ chassis. All you need is to unscrew the part you want to replace from the bottom of the metal chassis.

Annoying Things About the Arrma Mojave

As you see, this RC car is one of the best RC cars, it is almost perfect, it is made for bashing and racing, and it can do anything you want it to do.

However, there is one thing that I didn’t like about it.

It’s the AVC system. If the Arrma Mojave has Active Vehicle Control, you will have a much better experience and control over your RC car.

Still, the absence of this feature shouldn’t be a deal-breaker for you.

Other than that, this RC car is wonderful and you definitely should go and buy it.

Great Things About This RC Car

There are so many features the Arrma Mojave has that make it special from the other RC cars.

The best one is the special details on the body and the uniqueness of the chassis.

These two qualities will make you feel special.

See? Other than the performance of the RC car, the special things that make that car different have a big role in making you the driver feel different as well, Am I right?

That reminds me also of the Traxxas UDR which looks like the Arrma Mojave but with different specs and structure.

Arrma Mojave Price

As you know, the hero of this review comes with two versions that we mentioned earlier.

The EXB version comes with no electronics and the 6s version comes ready to run.

Since there are no electronics in the Arrma Mojave EXB, its price is less high than the ready-to-run version.

However, buying the electronics and testing them will cost you a lot of money and can increase to a 4 figures number.

Of course, no beginner will buy the EXB, if you’re an expert, you should know that, especially if you want to build something special to break a record or something like that.

So, Should You Buy The Arrma Mojave?

Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, you should go right now and buy this RC car.

The great thing is the fact that you have the choice to choose the better version for you.

However, if you have a child, I don’t recommend having this RC car, its big size may be dangerous even at low speed. You better have a medium to small-scale RC car for him/her.

Other than that, just go and spend your money on that beast.

Believe me, you won’t regret it because this will be the best RC car you’ll ever buy (At least in its range).
